BLAST Program

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Bucks County’s BLAST program is an innovative High School Bigs program which provides two specially-trained “High School Big” mentors for each elementary student who is diagnosed with having Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Students from both Council Rock North and Council Rock South high schools meet with students who have been referred from Goodnoe Elementary. Since ASD is often characterized by difficulties in social interaction, verbal and nonverbal communication, and repetitive behaviors, this program focuses on improvements in these areas. This program provides a positive, enriching experience for both the High School Bigs and their mentees.
